I guess the thing that scares me the most about NI is the fact that it hosts all this information on me (because of what I post) whether I like it or not. Its scary to think that if knowledge is power, then the people who are in control of this information have the ultimate power not just over me but of everyone I interact with or anyone that uses their product. They have control because they know me and have the ability to know what I am afraid of, what I like or dislike, or even my favorite colour. It is also unsettling to know that if the intentions of this group changed in any way, they could essentially do what they pleased with my information (ie: sell it).
I would not want the network to know the whereabouts, ages, and interests of my family and friends, as if something were to happen, because of the information I released, I would never forgive myself. I find this entire blog entry to be a little ironic, as we are suppose to outline our fears that information may be used in an inappropriate manner, while broadcasting said information to everyone in the world...Not really surprised though...
Anyhow, to top it all off, I guess my context is within Facebook and Twitter.
